Department of Hotel Tourism and Flight English

The Department of Hotel Tourism and Flight English is the sole academic department in Korea that aims to foster professionals in the hotel, tourism and aviation service (cabin crew) sectors based on a systematic program that equips students with practical English skills. Courses include the basic English language courses (conversational, writing and everyday English) and field-oriented courses, through which students gain knowledge and skills for practical application. It should also be noted that the Department of Hotel Tourism and Flight English boasts a high employment rate.

Department of Japanese Language

The Department of Japanese Language provides comprehensive education on various aspects of Japan including language, culture, history, national characteristics and traditions to help students develop an in-depth understanding of Japan and apply their knowledge to internal relations situations. As a result of globalization, foreign language skills are key in today’s world, and proficiency in Japanese, which is extensively used in the communications and multimedia sectors, helps our students gain a competitive edge.

Department of Chinese Language

The Department of Chinese Language aims to cultivate excellent proficiency in the Chinese language and commercial trade among its students. China is our neighbor and strategic partner, with whom we have maintained deep-rooted ties with for centuries through commercial trade and interchanges of thought, culture and traditions. Our relations with China will only become stronger and broader in the future. This means that there is and will always be a strong demand for professionals with outstanding Chinese language skills as well as an understanding of Chinese politics, economy, society and culture, and this is a set of skills that our students leave with.

College of Business Administration

U1U College of Business Administration consists of the Department of Business Administration and the Department of Medical Management. The Department of Business Administration aims to produce professionals with the necessary skills to serve as managers and supervisors at enterprises. The main courses include Accounting Management, Personnel Management, Marketing Management, Production Management and Business Management Information System Control. At the Department of Business Administration, we provide field-oriented education and training, using computer systems, and equip our students with the necessary skills and qualifications that are demanded by enterprises. The graduates of this department can choose among various occupations, further their studies at a graduate school, or even start their own business. This is why the Department of Business Administration has been recording relatively higher employment rates, and a popular choice for students graduating from specialized high schools and science schools.

The Department of Medical Management raises the leaders of tomorrow for the healthcare sector, a high value-added industry that’s expected to become a pivotal driving force behind national growth in the 21st century. In recent years, Korea has emerged as one of the world’s leading nations when it comes to healthcare, gaining recognition for the world-class technologies and techniques in cardiovascular disease treatment, plastic surgery, dentistry, oncology and liver transplantation surgery. Accordingly, Korea is visited by a large number of “medical tourists,” and their number is expected to rise exponentially over the years. Due to this trend, there has been a growing demand for hospital management specialists, and those who majored in Medical Management are now enjoying a broader scope of choices when it comes to employment. U1U Department of Medical Management equips students with the necessary practical skills for employment, and is committed to ensuring that all of its students can realize their dreams in the medical field.

Department of Police and Firefighting Administration

The Department of Police and Firefighting Administration provides a “track-type specialization system,” allowing students to freely select among the major courses during their studies and granting them the field of major/specialization upon graduation, according to the courses they have completed. The curriculum conforms to the requirements of the Special Recruitment for Police Administrative Officers (Test subjects: Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure Act, Administrative Law, Investigation, Police Studies) and Special Recruitment for Firefighting Administrative Officers (Test subjects: Firefighting Studies, firefighting law and regulations, Korean language). Graduates of this department go on to become public servants, security agents, military officers, CEOs, etc.

Department of Urban and Cadastral Administration

U1U Department of Urban and Cadastral Administration is the sole department at a domestic university that combines urban planning and cadastral administration in its curriculum. It aims to produce civil servants specializing in urban planning and cadastral management and traffic police officers as well as professionals working for public institutions such as the Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation. For this purpose, it offers employment-oriented education and training that helps students prepare for civil service examinations and qualification certifications.

Department of Social Welfare

The Department of Social Welfare produces social service workers, whose duty is to observe and identify various social issues and help promote the quality of life for the general public. The courses offered by the department help students develop good character and values, and gain the necessary knowledge and skills through systematic field practicums.

Department of Healthcare Administration

The Department of Healthcare Administration fosters experts in healthcare management, with are capable of researching and formulating scientific and practical management strategies for various organizations in the healthcare sector including medical institutions. Since its establishment in 2013, the department has been producing outstanding professionals with global competency who can contribute to the healthcare and related service sectors.

Department of Creative Convergence

The Department of Creative Convergence offers students a choice to select or create their fields of specialization one or two years after enrollment as a means to provide them with the experience of “creating their own world and future.” In other words, the barriers between various disciplines including the Humanities, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Natural Sciences and Engineering are broken down, and interdisciplinary studies are pursued so that students can turn into creative professionals who can quickly adapt to social changes and contribute to social development.
