Eligibility Criteria for Testing

New students (1st year students)
  • The applicant and his/her parents must be of a foreign nationality.
  • The applicant should be at least a high school graduate, who has completed a curriculum corresponding to that of elementary and secondary education in Korea.
  • The applicant should have obtained Korean language education at a regular Korean language education center for at least one term (over 400 hours) OR received a TOPIK score of at least 300 or a level 3 grade in a Korean language test.
Transferring Students (2nd to 4th year students)
  • The applicant and his/her parents must be of a foreign nationality.
  • Enrolment as a 2nd year student: The applicant should have completed at least one year of study (more than 35 credits) at a 4-year university or junior college in Korea or overseas, OR completed an equivalent level of education, in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations.
  • Enrolment as a 3rd year student: The applicant should have completed at least two years of study (more than 70 credits) at a 4-year university or junior college in Korea or overseas, OR completed an equivalent level of education, in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations.
  • Enrolment as a 4th year student: The applicant should have completed at least three years of study (more than 105 credits) at a 4-year university or junior college in Korea or overseas, OR completed an equivalent level of education, in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations (must be of the same area of specialization) .

The offer of admission may be revoked for applicants who received a letter of admission from U1 University but failed to obtain the necessary visa from the Ministry of Justice of Korea.

- White background is recommended
Certificate of place of residence - Either a receipt of the dormitory fee payment or lease/rental contract for housing
Visa application processing costs - Change of visa and foreigner registration: KRW 130,000
- Extension of sojourn: KRW 60,000
Insurance subscription costs (KRW 160,000) - May vary according to age
※ Note
① Students who have not yet graduated must submit the graduation certificate after graduation.
② Obtain educational certificate notarizations via http://www.cdgdc.edu.cn/cn/ or http://www.chsi.com.cn

Note

  • Photocopies will not be accepted. The original copies must be submitted after enrolment.
  • In case of submitting the document in Chinese, a notarized translated copy in Korean or English must be attached.
  • If the submitted documents are not sufficient for screening the applicant’s graduation qualification, YDU may request additional documents.
  • If the name on the documents is inconsistent with the name of the applicant provided, the applicant must attach a certificate issued by the court or government institution of his/her country of citizenship.
  • If it is discovered that the documents were falsified or the applicant passed the required test in an unlawful manner, the admissions status will be revoked, and if it is discovered after registration and enrolment, the applicant’s acquired credits will be revoked.
  • Graduating students must submit their graduation certificates before enrolment. If not, the offer of admission may be revoked.
