Department of Automotive Software

“If the human toll from highway accidents were a disease and we knew there was a cure (autonomous vehicles), it would be immoral not to marshal every corner of government and industry to deploy it.” – Don Howard, Wall Street Journal -
Automotive software refers to all types of software that are programmed into a vehicle. Automobiles have been evolving at a rapid pace, as a result of convergence with information technology (IT), and it has become a major field of interest in the IT sector. Machine-based automobiles are being intensively developed using IT technology to maximize user safety, comfort and convenience. At the Department of Automotive Software, students acquire knowledge and skills in convergence software technology, which is essential in today’s automotive industry, through the educational courses and academic-industrial cooperation training programs, so that they can lead the automotive software sector.

Department of Embedded Software

At the Department of Embedded Software, students study software that is used in various types of embedded systems. An “embedded system” refers to a small computer that is built into a device or system. Some of the most common examples of devices that contain computer chips are mobile phones, MP3 players, digital cameras as well as factory equipment and cars.

Department of Smart IT

The Department of Smart IT aims to produce professionals with the necessary skills to develop software and contents for smart devices. They are educated in programming and business, and also gain practical skills through the academic-industrial cooperation programs conducted with computer software, app and contents developers. After graduation, students can find jobs as web/app or game developers, or at enterprises or public institutions.

Department of Information and Communication Security

The Department of Information and Communication Security produces information security professionals, considered the most promising occupation today. Students study knowledge and information security and digital forensics including digital forensics technology, and receive systematic skills training in the field of advanced information and communications networks and security systems. Through such education and training, students emerge as specialists in the cyber security area.

Department of Invention and Intellectual Property

“Let’s become irreplaceable professionals in the field of inventions and intellectual properties” Application and registration of more than 50 patents Over 20 awards and prizes from domestic and overseas invention expositions Fostering of experts in patent specifications (electrical and electronics) and patent drawings Employment rate of 100% in the invention and intellectual property field

Department of Architectural Engineering

The educational objective of Department of Architectural Engineering is to explore the creation process of buildings and the related engineering information, and to cultivate reality-based construction concepts and designs, technical knowledge, and construction/installation and management skills. Since its establishment, the department has been producing outstanding professionals for the architectural engineering sector who have found jobs at construction firms, design offices and architectural design firms and as civil servants (architects, construction engineers, energy assessors, etc.).

Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering

The civil and environmental engineering discipline, contributing to the establishment and development of major national infrastructures, encompasses various fields including roads, railway, bridges, transportation, ports, environment and water resources. Because the aerospace and aviation sectors also incorporate civil and environmental engineering disciplines, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that it is truly a comprehensive, all-encompassing engineering discipline. Accordingly, the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering aims to produce specialized professionals who can formulate plans for as well as design, construct and maintain public infrastructures.
In 2016, the name of the department will be changed to the “Department of Construction, Environment, and Disaster-Prevention Engineering” to note that it will specialize in training professionals, equipped with the disaster-safety professional qualifications, for the construction and environmental engineering field. This also reflects the current trend where the Depts. of Civil and Environmental Engineering are being transformed into Depts. of Construction and Environmental Engineering.

Department of Medical and Life Sciences

The Department of Medical and Life Sciences aims to foster students to become leaders in bio-engineering, and medical and life sciences, which are regarded as the key fields in the 21st century science and technology. The educational curriculum combines courses that teach basic information, principles, skills and techniques in life sciences, and graduating students can find a job at a national research institute, hospital or pharmaceutical company among other related institutions, or further their studies in medicine, pharmacy, veterinary medicine or life sciences.

Department of Media Contents

The Department of Media Contents equip students with knowledge in advanced contents technology used in web services and interactive media. Students gain the basic website construction skills and the ability to produce fun and creative game, educational and cultural contents by incorporating the latest technologies such as big data visualization, e-publishing, drones, smart video and 3D printing modeling.
